Contract: Part time, Temporary. 30 hours per week/ 38 weeks per year.
Salary: Apprentice Salary, £6.40 per hour for the first year (minimum wage according to age group from second year)

Are you ready to change the course of children's lives? We are looking for great people to join the founding team at The Compass School, a small school for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. We are growing and are looking for an amazing apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our growing team. You could be from a Primary or Secondary, or Special School background, as long as you are excited about working with our amazing pupils and staff to build a brilliant school.
We are looking for candidates with the motivation and determination to ensure that students make progress, improve their experience of education and prepare them to lead a fulfilling life. The Compass School will educate young people between the ages of 7-16 who have a wide range of Social Emotional and Mental Health needs. Many of the pupils may also be on the Autistic Spectrum. The school serves a catchment area that covers Havering and surrounding areas. The school will also be adding to our network of special schools, alongside Sir Peter Hall School, Bury St Edmund’s, Sir Bobby Robson School, Ipswich, The Bridge School, Ipswich and Churchill School, Haverhill.
You will be supported in your role by experienced special education leaders who will be available to offer advice and guidance as the school moves forward under their leadership. Significant training and development are available through opportunities for professional development, research, teacher training and collaboration between schools and across phases.
