Finance Assistant

Start Date: September 2022

Contract Type: Permanent, part time (37 hours per week, 42 weeks per year)

Salary: Grade 3, SP 4-6 (FTE £19,264 - £20,043 / Actual £17,610 - £18,322 per annum)

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Finance Assistant (school-based) who will share our determination to transform the life chances of our students. We are looking for a highly effective colleague who works hard and has high standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a key role at the heart of our school for Year 7 to Year 11 students. We have 550 students on roll and this is forecast to grow to over 600 in the coming years. Breckland School is a good and improving school well regarded by the local community with whom it works closely. Staff enjoy working here and our students are well behaved and keen to learn. We have recently become part of Unity Schools Partnership, and are excited about the opportunities this brings.

This role reports directly to Breckland School’s Principal and Trust Finance Team, and includes the following (further responsibilities may be viewed in the job description):

  • Raising purchase orders and processing invoices
  • Managing all school credit card purchases and reconciling credit card expenditure.
  • Receiving, checking and recording of goods received
  • Preparing BACS runs
  • Preparation and banking of all school income
  • Processing monthly mileage/expenses forms and staff expense administration
  • Input income from Parent Pay system and managing cashless catering system
  • Dealing with supplier queries and checking new supplier credentials
  • Assist year end closedown
